HAITIAN BOOK CENTRE IS A MAIL-ORDER BOOKSTORE. Our inventory consists of all the classics of Haitian literature plus all the newly published titles by Haitian authors here and abroad and can be browsed online. Updated lists of recently released books are also mailed periodically to our clients. We are the main supplier here in United States of Haitian books published in Haiti.
Haitian Book Centre was founded in September 1977 as a means of spreading Haitian culture in the United States. By the permanence and the reliability of almost twenty-five years of service to the Haitian community, to the American public libraries and to the public at large, we have acquired a reputation hitherto unequalled in our community. Among our major customers are: The Queens Borough Public Library, The Donner Public Library, The Brooklyn Public Library, The Public Library of Broward County, FL, the Elizabeth NJ Public Library, The Uniondale Public Library, Harvard College Library, Yale University Library, Princeton University Library, Erasmus High School, UCLA Berkeley.
Each year, Haitian Book Centre organizes at least one public event intended as celebration of the Haitian literary production where the public is invited to meet the Haitian authors. The now traditional "Journée du Livre Haïtien" is held every year on the second Sunday of April at CASEGHA. Upon invitation of our institutional partners, we also exhibit our books as sponsor in multicultural events.
We are here to assist you in any need of Haitian books. Besides titles already listed in our catalogues, we have the capacity and the expertise to handle customized orders within a reasonable deadline. |
